Sovay By Ceelia Rees

Sovay
Sovay has grown up in a new way - aware and supportive of the ideas of equality and freedom, nurtured  by her father, who has a strong belief in them. But he has been charged of treason, and has had to run away, and Sovay is left to run the house alone. Testing the faith of her current love, she takes the guise of a highwayman, and soon carries on in this way, enjoying the freedom. But the revolution across the water is building to the Terror, and a dark plot emerges. Sovay is heading in a direction she never meant to come...
This is one of my favorite books - a beautiful teenage girl who wants to have rights and freedom, who dresses up as a highwayman, and ends up in France, where things are getting worse. Many men in love with her, and as yet her heart undecided this is an amazing twisting story of freedom, terror and romance!
10/10
